What is AI roleplay chat?
AI roleplay chat turns a conversation with artificial intelligence into a character-driven story. Each character has a personality, background, relationship dynamic, and way of speaking.
On CharPal you can explore hundreds of characters, open a conversation in the browser, and continue a story at your own pace.
How to begin
Start with the character directory or a category that matches the kind of story you want. Read the introduction, then send a specific message that establishes a place, goal, or emotion.
Specific prompts create stronger scenes. Instead of asking a generic question, describe what just happened and how your character reacts.
Build a better conversation
Stay consistent with the setting, explore different character types, and use continuation, voice, images, or memory when they add something meaningful to the story.
You can also create a custom character with a distinct identity, greeting, background, and conversation style.
